Young Toddlers

The goal of our young toddlers group is to encourage learning through hands on experiences and teacher directed activities. Our circle time consists of reading board books, singing songs (such as ABC’s), and simple counting 1 through 10.

The educators in this group alternate between teacher directed activities (e.g. making shapes with Play-Doh at the table or painting with sponges) and free play where the child directs the activity (e.g. Sand table play or building Duplo towers). This group follows a flexible schedule with breakfast at 9 AM, lunch at 12 PM, and nap from 1 PM to 3 PM. We ask parents to supply diapers and diaper cream. We provide meals and milk. We are open to introducing potty training as long as the parents are doing the same at home.

Ring Around the Rosie

``I am a nurturing person by nature. I love taking care of my family, my friends, and the children at ACA they may be little, but they are so full of energy and life. I love working with the children, whether I'm feeding them, cleaning them, or consoling them when they are sad. I also enjoy teaching them about my Indian traditions by reading books and singing songs in Gujrati, my native language.``

``I love watching children grow. Yesterday, they couldn't walk but today, they're taking steps! Before, they couldn't pronounce a word correctly - now, they can say a full sentence! It's always so exciting, and I am proud to be part of their accomplishments. I put so much effort into everything I do, from planning a curriculum to organizing activities, because the children's growth is my reward.``

``My education is in teaching math. Math is more than counting and numbers. I teach young children to think and analyze, experiment, ask questions, and try to figure out solutions to problems by themselves. By building with blocks, doing patterns, putting together jigsaw puzzles, sorting buttons and counting bears, children learn math.``
